Marianne Hornbuckle’s abstract acrylic paintings are at once exciting and
contemplative. Her early semi-abstract watercolor landscapes gained her
membership in AWS and NWS and the collections of many major corporations, as well as the publication of numerous posters. Thirty-years of painting have included most mediums and genres. She has been doing abstractions in monotype since 1999, and in acrylic since 2003. Her first four sculpture editions were unveiled in January 2009.Two more were added over the summer; three new figures, in late winter 2010, and two in summer, 2010.
Marianne is an active participant in the Santa Fe Society of Artists. She teaches adult drawing and does watercolor portraits as well. She has shared life, studio and gallery with her husband, sumi-e artist William Preston, at their home in Pojoaque, north of Santa Fe, New Mexico, for 28 years.
